Importance of Networking!!!

As with any business what you know is very important, but who you know will take you much further. The real estate investing business is no different. You can have all the knowledge in the world about all of the markets, strategies, systems, processes, and procedures. If you don’t have the proper connections that wealth of knowledge will only carry you so far. Sooner or later you will come to a point where you need someone to help you close on a property quicker or to find potential buyers. This is why networking is key.

One of the first things I did when starting out this business was to visit local real estate investor associations within the area and get my company name out and see where I could help out other investors. Its important that when you are networking you present yourself in such a way that it will be a mutually beneficial relationship for both parties involved. Always remember that people will be more inclined to help you when they know that they will benefit from any agreements. We would all like to think that if we ask for help people will just jump out the help us but then again, we are meeting a stranger and asking for their help. This is why it is important to present yourself as someone looking to help others while helping yourself.

I model my business is such a way that the those I do business with will benefit and me benefiting is secondary. If you are able to keep this perspective you will build many connections that will be sustainable for however long you plan to do business.
